Fabian Delph believes his work ethic has seen him excel at Manchester City this season.

The England international has been developed from a midfielder to one of the best left full-backs in the Premier League by coach Pep Guardiola.

And although the former Aston Villa man admits there are better technical player at the club, it’s his hard graft that his seen him make the Three Lions World Cup squad.

“There are obviously a lot more talented players than me in the Manchester City team,” he told reporters.

“But my work ethic is probably better than theirs, and I think Pep likes that.

“He’s been great with me, he’s worked with me closely, as have the rest of his staff and this season has been absolutely class for me.

“To top it off with a World Cup I am delighted.”
