Everton ready to step up their interest in €35m-rated Djené

With Phil Jagielka and Ashley leaving the club and Kurt Zouma reportedly returning to Chelsea, Everton are in desperate need of reinforcements at centre-back.

Djené has been unbelievable for Getafe the past two seasons and according to reports out of Spain, Everton are preparing to make a bid for the 27-year-old.

The Togolese international spearheaded a back line that allowed just 35 goals in the 2019 season – tied for the second-best defence in LaLiga.

Everton have been linked with Djené for quite some time and are reportedly willing to pay the €35m that Getafe are demanding for him.

Though standing at just five-feet-10-inches tall, Djené’s pace and ability to close down quickly has allowed him to become one of the better defenders in Spain’s top-flight.
