Mason Holgate has made four Premier League starts this season, however, Everton feels that he may benefit from first-team football elsewhere.
According to Sky Sports, the 22-year-old is out-of-favour at Goodison Park and the club has allowed Holgate to leave on loan in January.
After starting four of Everton’s first five Premier League matches this season, manager Marco Silva has left him off the pitch for their last nine league outings.
The England U-21 international is under contract until 2022 after signing a five-year deal last season.
Holgate graduated from the Barnsley academy and joined the Toffees a year later in 2015.
Late last week, Marco Silva ruled out a January loan move for 20-year-old midfielder Tom Davies.
