Everton are looking to sell Oumar Niasse

Oumar Niasse has failed to meet expectations since his €18m arrival from Lokomotiv Moscow in February 2016, scoring just eight times in 31 Premier League appearances.

In fact, after just playing 152 PL minutes for Everton in the second half of the 2016 season, then-manager Ronald Koeman sent Niasse on loan to Hull City after refusing to give him a squad number.

Despite scoring eight goals and distributing three assists in 22 Premier League appearances last season, Niasse has only seen 48 minutes of Premier League action this term under Marco Silva and hasn’t been named to the matchday squad in their last 12 matches.

Marco Silva has instead relied on Richarlison, Cenk Tosun, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top for the eighth-placed Toffees.

Now, according to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are willing to cut their losses and get rid of the Senegalese international for a cut-rate price, as his contract is set to expire in the summer of 2020.

Cardiff have expressed interest in the centre-forward, however, they are only willing to take Niasse on loan.

Niasse was nearly sold to Crystal Palace in summer 2017, though they pulled out of an €8m at the last minute.

The 28-year-old’s departure will likely be another blow to Everton’s finances, as took a near-€14m loss selling Davy Klaassen to Werder Bremen over the summer.
