Following the sale of Romelu Lukaku in the summer, the Toffees failed to secure a reliable goalscorer and have struggled to find the back of the net.

Attempts to sign Olivier Giroud and Diego Costa in the summer failed, leaving a flurry of attacking midfielders and a young striker with the burden of replacing the 25 Premier League goals Lukaku scored last sesaon.

Tosun, a Turkish international, has scored eight goals in 16 Turkish Super Lig appearances so far this campaign.

On top of that he netted four during the Champions League group stage.

Everton are unbeaten in seven Premier League games under Allardyce.
