The colourful adventure of Edinson Cavani at Paris Saint-Germain could end this summer, with coach Thomas Tuchel eager to offload him.

There are just over 12 months remaining on the Uruguayan’s current contract at the Parc des Princes.

No extension offer from the club has been forthcoming and may be unlikely to do so.

According to Le Parisien, Tuchel is keen to move Cavani on as he no longer deems him a key part of his first team plans.

This summer also represents one of the final opportunities to cash in on the former Napoli man and perhaps recoup between €40m-€50m for his services.

For his part though, Cavani is in no rush to leave the French capital, with his wife expecting their first child in May, and said as much in January.

“I want to finish my contract and maybe my career at PSG,” he replied when asked about his future.

“I’ll be 33 then and I don’t know if I’ll keep playing after 2020 and if it will be in Paris.

“But I want to finish out my contract because I feel good here. The club and fans are happy with me too.”

Cavani is currently sidelined with a thigh injury but hopes to return for the Coupe de France final against Rennes on April 27.
