Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson believes the acquisition of Philippe Coutinho will turn Bayern Munich into Champions League challengers.
Coutinho joined Bayern in August on a season-long loan from Barcelona, with the Bundesliga side reserving an option to buy for €120m next summer.
The 27-year-old has settled quickly in Bavaria and according to his countryman, could make all the difference in Europe.
“Bayern is always a great team,” Ederson told Bild.
“Now with Coutinho they are definitely belong among the favourites for the Champions League.
“Coutinho is a brilliant player. Unfortunately, it did not go as well for him in Barcelona as it was in Liverpool.
“But now he can now show his football again and be really happy again.”
Bayern have failed to reach a Champions League final since 2013 – where they won the tournament at Wembley.
