Eden Hazard is now expected to stay at Chelsea despite strong rumours linking him with Real Madrid.
Following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus, Hazard was seen somebody who could come in and sweeten the blow of losing such a talented player.
Having starred for Belgium at the World Cup, he even suggested it might be time to “discover something different” when asked about his future.
However, according to Kristof Terreur of HLN, Hazard will return to training on Monday after a move failed to materialise.
There were preliminary talks between the two clubs but Chelsea stood firm on their part and requested a near world-record fee for his services.
Real Madrid, happy to stick with what they’ve got going forward, will target a move for Thibaut Courtois who has just one year left on his contract.
