Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek has played down reports that he has already agreed to join Real Madrid this summer.

Van de Beek was close to joining Los Blancos last year, only for negotiations to break down with both clubs unable to agree a fee.

However, reports have again surfaced in Spain claiming a ‘done deal’ – which the 22-year-old has quickly rubbished.

“It makes no sense,” he told De Telegraaf. “I can’t control what people say.

“I think the talk is premature. I have often said: I will not hurry; I am fine here.

“If it happens, it happens. But that is something to deal with later.”

Ajax will already lose Hakim Ziyech to Chelsea come July, with right-back Sergiño Dest also heavily linked to Bayern.
