Simeone has coached more games than any other coach with a LaLiga club in European competition, with a total of 92.

During that time, he also has a higher winning percentage than any other tactician, raising that number to 63% in Russia.

The 2-0 win also took ‘Cholo’ to 35 wins in the Champions League, incredibly achieved in just six seasons in the tournament.

That has taken him ahead of Vicente del Bosque into first position that regard, although the former Real Madrid boss did win the big-eared trophy twice in his career.

During his time with Barcelona, Pep Guardiola won a total of 30 Champions League games, although he also won the trophy twice.

Nonetheless, the numbers in the Argentine’s favour are spectacular.

Will this finally be the year in which he ends his wait to lift the title after twice coming agonisingly close?
