Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has not ruled out playing somewhere else in the future, but has stated that he remains focused on his current club currently.

The 27-year old left-back graduated from the academy at the Bundesliga champions and has made over 350 appearances for the club since breaking into the first-team in 2011.

Alaba has been one of the best left-backs in world football and has added another string to his bow by starting a number of games at centre-back this season, particularly since the arrival of interim head coach Hansi Flick.

His form has helped Bayern spring back to the top of the Bundesliga, where they are one point ahead of RB Leipzig following the 4-1 win over Cologne on Sunday.

However, there could be a move to another country in the offing for the Austrian in the near future.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, Alaba said:

“I know the Premier League very well because I followed it a lot when I was younger.

“I supported Arsenal. Patrick Vieira was one of my favourite players.

“At the moment I don’t think too much about it but I can imagine playing somewhere else.

“I am very focused on Bayern Munich.

“We really want to reach our goals and I really want to help the team.”

Alaba’s contract at the club runs until 2021.
