David Alaba could return to action sooner than expected

David Alaba could return to the Bayern Munich side for their Champions League clash with Tottenham in 10 days time.

That’s according to coach Niko Kovač who has insisted that the Austria international is making good progress from a muscle injury.

Alaba pulled out of Bayern’s game with RB Leipzig the weekend before last and has been on the sidelines since, but Kovač is confident that the versatile defender will be fit for their blockbuster European encounter on October 1.

“David is making very good progress. We hope he can compete against Tottenham.”
