David Alaba has thrown his weight behind Hansi Flick to be the next permanent Bayern Munich boss.
Flick helped guide Bayern to a 6-1 win over Werder Bremen on Saturday, taking the Bavarian side up to fourth in the Bundesliga.
And Alaba has admitted that he wants the former assistant to be in charge until at least the end of the season.
“We all feel really good. You can recognise his philosophies very well in our game,” the Austria international said.
Sporting director Hasan Salihamdzic though, has claimed that the first team squad will not have the final say on who will be the next manager.
“Naturally we will look closely at how we work, at how the coach works, and how the players react,” he said.
“But of course we are going to decide that. Sure, the players wish that, but in the end, we don’t have the last word.”
