Danny Ings taking pre-season extra seriously at Southampton | OneFootball

Having struggled with niggling injuries last season, Danny Ings has warned Southampton fans he is leaving no stone unturned this summer to put that behind him.

The 26-year-old spent last season on loan at St Mary’s before making the move from Liverpool permanent earlier this month.

Injury issues restricted him to just eight goals last season and he is hoping his pre-season efforts this year prevent a similar situation.

“I wanted to look after myself this summer after the hamstring issues and niggles I had last season,” he told the club’s official website.

“It was important that I came back with a good base this time and I’ve been working hard in pre-season.

“I’ve been trying to impress the manager. As a team we’re getting stronger and the positivity is high.”

Ings is already off to a strong start this summer, bagging a brace in the Saints’ recent 3-1 win over Preston.
