Left-back Danilo Avelar has signed a contract with Corinthians that will keep him at the club until July 2022.
The 30-year-old has been with Timão for the last year on loan from Serie A side Torino and shared his excitement on Thursday after finally agreeing to a permanent deal.
“I’m very happy, thank you for your support and for your confidence. It’s official now. Thank you all and I hope to give you many joys,” Avelar told the Corinthians official website.
Corinthians will pay R$6.3m (€1.5m) for 100 per cent of the player’s rights, with half of the money paid immediately. The other installment will be made in 2021.
Despite a poor 2018, Avelar turned it around and was one of the team’s most solid performers in the Campeonato Paulista and scored the opening goal in the final.
