Dani Ceballos reportedly asked Real Madrid not to sell him this summer before sanctioning his season-long loan switch to Arsenal.
Ceballos joined the north London outfit in July, after demanding more first-team football ahead of next summer’s European Championship.
But according to Marca, even though Arsenal tried to sign him permanently, the 23-year-old asked Madrid officials to insist on a temporary agreement.
Ceballos believes he still has a future at the Santiago Bernabéu – particularly with Zinedine Zidane struggling in his second spell in charge.
Los Blancos have just one win in their opening three LaLiga games and pressure is mounting on the three-time Champions League winning manager.
The former Betis playmaker has a difficult relationship with Zidane but as seen with Gareth Bale and James Rodríguez, second chances still exist.
