Dani Alves was in great spirits after undergoing surgery on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old was operated on by an orthopedic team at the Pitie Salperriere hospital in Paris.

The procedure was purposefully delayed as part of a strategy that will allow Alves to miss less time. However, there’s no chance the Brazilian will represent his country at the World Cup in Russia.

The defender posted a hilarious video on Instagram showing that he’s still got his sense of humour despite the timing of his injury.

Dani Alves also showed a video of himself accepting his degree from Harvard’s business school with the caption “I think it was worth waking up everyday [at] 7 am!!”
