Crystal Palace have reportedly joined the race to sign Jack Wilshere on a free transfer this summer, with the midfielder looking set to depart Arsenal.

The 26-year-old is believed to have had crunch talks with new manager Unai Emery last week, where the Spaniard is thought to have told Wislhere he is no longer in his plans for next term.

Wilshere had previously rejected a contract extension at the Emirates earlier this year after the north London club only offered him a one-year extension, rather than the three he was after.

As such, a whole host of clubs are keen on signing the England international when his deal expires in July, including Everton and West Ham.

But the Mirror have on Monday insisted that it is Crystal Palace who are in pole position for his signature, with Roy Hodgson having worked with the midfielder during his national team days.

There is also supposed interest from Serie A, but the paper reports that Wilshere wants to stay in the UK.
