Defending Copa MX champions and Liga MX finalists Cruz Azul got off to a very bumpy start this season, going winless through their first three matches in all competitions.

Prior to defeating Tigres 1-0 on the road this past weekend in the league, Cruz Azul were only able to earn one point against Puebla and Chivas before dropping their Copa MX opening-round clash with Club León.

Wednesday’s match against second-division side Alebrijes de Oaxaca represents a huge chance for Cruz Azul to get some much-needed confidence going forward.

If Cruz Azul can pull off the win tonight, all three clubs in Group E will be on three points through two games.

However, a loss would be devastating and Cruz Azul would be in serious danger of not advancing to the knockout stages of the tournament.
