Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed he lost a bet with manager Massimiliano Allegri this week.

After missing a penalty in Monday’s 3-0 win over Chievo, the Bianconeri talisman admitted the duo had placed a wager on his spot-kicks.

Ronaldo had reason to be even more upset than usual at missing the target after he and Allegri bet he would score every time he struck from twelve yards out.

“It’s true I had a bet with my coach on scoring every penalty this season,” said Ronaldo, as reported by The Independent. “I’m ready to keep it.

“It makes me happy to know that my contribution is appreciated by my coach and team-mates. They really welcomed me very well and I want to repay their trust and support with hard work.”

Juventus, who are nine points clear of second-placed Napoli in the Serie A table, travel to Lazio on Sunday.
