Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly weighing up a summer move for struggling Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho has underperformed and underwhelmed since joining Barça in a big money move from Liverpool in January 2018 and the Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move away before the start of next season.

Manchester United are also said to be keeping tabs on the 26-year-old’s situation but according to Spanish outlet AS, PSG are preparing to make a move for Coutinho which would see him move to the Parc des Princes on an initial one year loan deal with an option to buy.

And if the LaLiga champions agree to let the playmaker move to the French capital, AS say it would pave the way for Edinson Cavani to join Atlético Madrid.

The Uruguayan hit-man is said to have agreed terms with the Rojiblancos, but it seems PSG are not willing to let him go before they’ve signed another forward player to replace him.

Coutinho moved to Camp Nou in a deal worth a reported €145m but he is yet to set the world alight and his record stands at 21 goals and 11 assists in 76 appearances for the club.

Barcelona are unlikely to get anything like that kind of money for him were they to sell, but even considering letting him leave on loan would perhaps not be the wisest business decision.
