The transfer of defender Felipe from Porto to Atletico Madrid will yield money to Corinthians – exactly R$450,000 (€100,000).

Felipe was sold for about R$90m (€20m) to the Spanish team and the value was confirmed by Porto.

The 30-year-old centre-back featured for Corinthians from 2012 to 2016 and was initially sold for R$27m (€8.2m).

Initially, Corinthians and Porto had discussed a 25 per cent sell-on clause but ended up passing in favour of a higher transfer fee.

Instead, Timão are only entitled to 0.5 per cent of Felipe’s new deal, an amount that is small even in the Brasileirão.

Last season with Porto, Felipe featured a total of 53 times in all competitions, scoring four goals and contributing three assists in nearly 5,000 total minutes.
