Over the next few weeks, Corinthians may have to deal with heavy interest from Italy for striker Gustagol, the club’s top scorer this season with 10 goals in 30 games.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Dimarzio, Bologna made an offer of €5m (R$22.2m) for the player.
According to various reports in the Brazilian media, Corinthians have rejected Bologna’s bid and have requested €8m (R$35.5m), though some reports claim Corinthians will not accept a bid lower than €10m (R$44.4m).
The Italian summer transfer window closes on 2 September.
While Gustagol’s future is entirely in Corinthians’ hands, his economic rights are very much divided.
Corinthians own 45 per cent of the player, while Criciuma (35 per cent) and Taboão da Serra (20 per cent) also stand to profit from his sale.
