Mason Holgate believes that improved consistency is what has turned his Everton career around after an indifferent start to life with the Blues.
Holgate has been virtually ever-present for Marco Silva’s side this term but that hasn’t always been the case for the 23-year-old.
The versatile defender spent the first part of this year on loan at West Brom but has since become something of a lynchpin for the Merseyside outfit.
And the England youth international has revealed that improving his base level has helped.
“The main thing [which improved] was my consistency,” said Holgate.
“Before, I would be unbelievable in one session, then the next one I might as well have not been there.
“Now there is a consistent base. Some sessions will always be better than others but there is a minimum level.
“And my physicality has improved.”
