Christian Pulisic has insisted that he is going to “prove” himself at Chelsea despite a difficult start to life in west London.
Pulisic joined the Blues from Borussia Dortmund over the summer but despite signing for €60m has failed to usurp Mason Mount in Frank Lampard’s starting XI.
But the America international has claimed that his initial struggles won’t stop him making an impression at Stamford Bridge.
“If you can play, you can play and that’s why Dortmund was amazing for me, the coach always trusted me,” he told the Players Tribune.
“But you’ve got to prove yourself maybe that extra mile,” he said.
“I have to prove myself no matter what age I am. I don’t feel like I’m some wonder boy anymore, I’ve been around and I think I’ve earned that respect at least and I’m in a new chapter and I’m going to prove myself.”
