Christian Pulisic will be wearing Chelsea blue next season, however, he could still set a Bundesliga record before his Premier League departure.

If the American features and Borussia Dortmund defeat Schalke in this weekend’s vital Revierderby, Pulisic will be the youngest player to ever win 50 Bundesliga matches.

Pulisic, who will be 20 years and 221 days old on Saturday, would beat Julian Draxler’s record by 11 days.

Draxler, who was with Schalke at the time, set the record five years ago.

If Dortmund do not pick up an all-important three points in their pursuit of the Bundesliga title, or if Pulisic does not play, he will have another shot to break the record next week at Werder.

The winger, who joined Chelsea for €64m in January before being allowed to finish the season on loan in Germany, made his Dortmund debut back in January 2016 as a 17-year-old.

Pulisic holds two Bundesliga records: the youngest non-German to ever score a Bundesliga goal and the youngest non-German to score two goals in the same game – both coming in 2016.
