Christian Fuchs has been at Leicester since arriving from Schalke on a free transfer in 2015 and it appeared that his career with the Foxes would be ending this summer as his contract his set to expire.

“If Leicester plays in the European Cup next season, you need a big squad, it’s hard to reduce,” he told APA in Austria.

“And Rodgers has told me he wants to keep me on at all costs and we’ll certainly be able to work something out, so I’m relaxed in that respect.”

The 33-year-old Fuchs has been linked with retirement as he’s been focused on life outside of football, which includes heavy involvement in the eSports industry and a potential career as an NFL kicker.
