On Monday, Chivas announced on social media that they have extended the contract of defender Jesús Sánchez for two more years, which will keep him at the club until 2022.
The 30-year-old right-back has been a one-club man since making his professional debut back in August 2010 and has made 240 appearances to date.
After suffering serious knee and foot injuries that caused him to miss most of the last year and a half, Sánchez bounced back and became a key piece in his position for both current manager Luis Fernando Tena and his predecessor Tomás Boy in the starting XI.
Chivas finished in 10th place and nearly qualified for the Liguilla but missed out on their miracle due to victories from Rayados and Pachuca.
