With a spot in the round-of-16 already secured, Chivas head into tonight’s Copa MX match against Cafetaleros with the goal of maintaining their positive momentum.

Alexis Vega scored his first three goals for the rojiblanco in their 3-0 thrashing of rivals Atlas on Saturday to extend their unbeaten run to four games.

There’s added intrigue to this fixture as Sebastián ‘Chevy’ Martínez, who turned 18 last month, has earned his first call-up to the senior squad.

Martínez was named as one of the 60 best young talents in world football by The Guardian a few months ago.

While José Saturnino Cardozo has the luxury of playing an experimental line-up tonight, second-division Cafetaleros do not.

The home side need to take all three points tonight in order to get up to six points and position themselves amongst the seven-highest second-placed teams in the group stage – which would ensure their place in the round-of-16.
