But it wasn’t long before Chicago managed to equalise and immediately afterwards took the lead, in just a two minute lapse.

Nemanja Nikolic and Diego Campos netted the goals that had the Fire leading all the way into the second half.

Houston equalised through a penalty taken by Alberth Elis before the game reached the hour mark.

At that point it was anybody’s game, as they were both trying to regain their lost leads.

Veteran Boniek García won the ball by sliding in midfield in a counterattack, and that gave Elis the chance to show off with his speed in open space to score his brace.

‘The Panther’s’ second goal in the 74th minute proved to be the decisive one as the Fire were unable to salvage a point despite getting more men to play up front in the final moments of the clash.

Boniek, Elis and Quioto are all usually called-up to the Honduran national team. Elis and Quioto are the young strikers that spark hope in the ‘Catrachos’ future, while Boniek has already taken part in some of the Central American team most glorious pages.
