With football postponed for the moment, weâve been thinking about who gets in Chelseaâs all-time XI.
Today weâre choosing the left winger.
Here are the nominees âŠ
Maybe not the obvious choice, but Florent Malouda deserves some credit for his time at Chelsea.
Signed from Lyon in 2007, he struck up a great relationship with Ashley Cole and was a consistent source of end product, shining in 2009/10 as the Blues scored 104 league goals.
Malouda made 229 appearances across six seasons, winning a Premier League, Champions League and three FA Cup titles.
Oh, Joe Cole. This story should have been so different.
Once described as âa Brazilianâ by Pele, few could match the natural ability of Cole who made football look easy with outrageous close control, technique and vision.
Injuries hampered what wouldâve been a promising career but he was still capable of producing golden moments.
What should come as a surprise to nobody: Eden Hazard is the best left winger in Chelsea history.
The Blues won the race for his signature in 2012 and never looked back, with Hazard showing incredible skill, ability to beat players and create chances every week.
His goalscoring record has been rightly criticised but having players like him â who strike fear in defences â are invaluable.
The Belgian made 352 appearances for the club across seven seasons, winning two Premier League titles, two Europa League titles and one FA Cup.
Hereâs how the team is looking so far âŠ
GK: Petr Äech RB: Branislav IvanoviÄ CB: Ron Harris CB: John Terry LB: Ashley Cole DM: Michael Essien CM: Frank Lampard AM: Gianfranco Zola RW: Charlie Cooke LW: Eden Hazard
