Roma could make a move to take Maurizio Sarri back to Italy, claim the Evening Standard.
The Serie A club sacked manager Eusebio Di Francesco earlier this month and replaced him with Claudio Ranieri.
However, Ranieri is not expected to remain in the dugout beyond this season.
Sarri, who led Napoli to finish second, third and second in his three seasons in charge there, has struggled at Chelsea.
The London club are fighting for a top four place and Sarri has been hit by criticism for failing to adapt his style.
Despite that, he has led the Blues to a Europa League quarter-final and the EFL Cup final, where they lost on penalties to Manchester City.
Sarri’s reputation in Italy has not suffered from his Chelsea reign and a return isn’t out of the question.
Chelsea, though, could be forced to hold on to the 60-year-old.
While many fans are unimpressed by performances, the club are facing a two-window transfer ban and are said to be aware that attracting a new manager will be difficult with that hanging over them.
