Former Celtic U-20 assistant manager Jim McGuinness is starting to set up a European pipeline in the United States.
On the same day Charlotte signed England U-17 World Cup-winning goalkeeper Curtis Anderson, the Independence announced the loan acquisition of midfielder Mark Hill.
“I’m very excited about being in Charlotte,” Hill told the Charlotte website.
“I know Jim [McGuinness] demands his players be hard-working and it was the exact same way at Celtic when I played under him there.
“Hopefully, I can do that here and go back to get a chance with Celtic.”
Hill has represented Scotland at the U-17 and U-19 levels.
Charlotte is currently loaning American defender Andrew Gutman from Celtic.
Gutman scored a bullet header in his debut as the Independence fell 3-2 to the Indy Eleven.
