Celtic have been handed a significant blow in their pursuit of Olympiakos defender Omar Elabdelaoui.

The 44-time Greek Super League champions are currently in second place and manager Pedro Martins insists nobody will be leaving the club.

According to the Daily Record, Celtic made enquiries for the €4m-rated right back but found their efforts instantly rebuffed.

“Many European clubs have been interested in our players,” he told reporters. “But nobody has come to my door asking to leave.

“We are focused on our goals of winning the title again and we won’t risk that by selling any players.

“To achieve our goals this season, we need a quality squad so none of our first team players will be sold this month.”

Brendan Rodgers’ side have already made two January signings with Timothy Weah and Vakoun Issouf Bayo coming in.
