Celtic reportedly saw their €10m bid for Atalanta defender Timothy Castagne rejected in January.
The Belgian has enjoyed a breakthrough season in Bergamo, making 20 appearances across all competitions.
According to Sky Italia, Atalanta did not want to lose Castagne without being able to secure a replacement.
Brendan Rodgers is said to have identified the 23-year-old due to his versatility, with Emilio Izaguirre and Kieran Tierney both injured.
The report claims that Celtic will reignite their interest this summer with Atalanta more open to negotiations.
