Former Barcelona captain Carles Puyol puts Yerry Mina’s disappointing stint at Camp Nou down to pure bad luck.
Mina joined Barça from Brazilian side Palmeiras in January 2017 but the Colombian defender made just six first team appearances for the club before he was sold to Everton last summer.
But Puyol believes the 24-year-old is a good defender who was unfortunate things didn’t go his way in Catalunya.
“Succeeding at Barcelona isn’t easy,” Puyol said at the Champions League Trophy Tour in Indonesia.
“It’s not easy to go there and adapt. You have to have time and you have players like [Gerard] Pique and [Samuel] Umtiti in front of you.”
“I wish Mina good luck. Things like that happen and it’s not always easy.”
Mina has so far made 14 appearances for Everton this season, scoring one goal.
