Despite playing for League Two side Cambridge last season, 24-year-old Uche Ikpeazu has attracted the attention of a handful of big clubs after decent performances this season with Hearts.

According to the Daily Mail, Cardiff City are preparing to bid for the six-foot-three-inch striker should they get relegated to the Championship.

Cardiff are currently five points from safety with a game in hand.

Celtic and Rangers have seen Ikpeazu in action first-hand and are said to be very interested in the London-born forward.

Despite missing four months with foot surgery, Ikpeazu has managed to score five goals and add four assists in all competitions for Hearts, who are currently fifth in the Premiership table with a match against Rangers on Wednesday.

In addition to Cambridge, Ikpeazu played at Crewe Alexandria, Port Vale, Blackpool, and Doncaster while on loan from Watford, where he failed to make an appearance. He’s a Reading academy graduate but did not play for the first-team.
