The 43-year-old has been out of work since leaving Portland Timbers last year
Caleb Porter is reportedly on the verge of accepting the Columbus Crew job despite being heavily linked with a switch to LA Galaxy.
The former Portland Timbers has been out of work since last November after he was relieved of his duties in the Pacific north-west just a year from joining the club.
Since the 43-year-old has been on the hunt for a new MLS post, and just this week was rumoured to be going to both Los Angeles and Columbus.
But now a story in the Atlantic which has been backed up by ESPN, has insisted that Porter will take the vacant Crew position and could be unveiled as earlier as next week.
The Crew parted ways with Gregg Berhalter after five years just last month.
