Already masters of the free transfer, it could be time for Juventus to work their magic again.

Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey are both available to sign pre-contracts in January and the Serie A champions should be all over them. With Blaise Matuidi and Sami Khedira both on the wrong side of 30, Rabiot would bring energy and elegance to the side while Ramsey could provide goals from deep.

Should they want the deals done early, players of this standard could strengthen their Champions League ambitions.

Unless a player is truly on the fringes then it’s never wise to reduce your squad depth.

But things are looking ominous for Sami Khedira in Turin. The midfielder has made just five appearances this season following the emergence of Rodrigo Bentancur and muscle injuries continue to rule him out for small periods. He has been linked with a return to Germany and we wouldn’t be surprised if it happened.

A slightly more left field option – Douglas Costa. Not a single goal or assist this season. Playing for his future?

Keep

His influence may be waning on the pitch but Andrea Barzagli should be going absolutely nowhere in January.

The Bianconeri have winning ingrained to their mentality and this is down to the likes of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci constantly keeping standards high. Adding Cristiano Ronaldo to their ranks has only emboldened this culture and you cannot undermine their influence.

Barzagli is no different. The 37-year-old knows what it means to play for this club and that authority is priceless.
