Leeds United have used Eddie Nketiah sparingly this season, which has led to renewed Bristol City hopes of signing him in January.

The Ashton Gate outfit, along with Fortuna Düsseldorf, came close to signing the forward on loan from Arsenal during the summer.

But he ultimately ended up at Elland Road, where he has made just 11 substitute appearances in the league and no starts as yet.

That has led to suggestions that the Gunners could recall him this winter and if they do, Bristol City will be ready to pursue him again.

“He’s a very talented player and should he become available, he’s definitely someone we’ll consider,” chief executive Mark Ashton told BBC Radio Bristol.

“If the fit was right and we were able to do it, it would definitely interest us.

“But it would be remiss of us to have someone like him as the only option.”

Despite his limited time on the field, Nketiah has still managed an impressive three goals and one assist for the Championship table-toppers.
