Brian Lozano was considered a huge flop at América, making only nine appearances and not scoring a single goal after his €2.8m move from Uruguayan outfit Defensor in January 2016.
Lozano spent most of his two-and-a-half years at the club on loan with both Nacional and Santos Laguna, with Santos making his move permanent in July 2018 for just €1.4m.
But after Lozano exploded for nine goals and seven assists this season, América supporters are wondering if they could lure the Uruguay international back to the Estadio Azteca.
On Tuesday, ahead of Santos’ Liguilla quarter-final first-leg tie with Rayados, Lozano was asked about a potential return.
“I have never had the idea of returning to América. I cannot make that decision, whether at some point I return to América or not.
“I did not feel that they treated me badly, what I did feel is that they did not give me the opportunity.”
Earlier this month, Lozano celebrated heavily after scoring a 71st-minute penalty that gave his side a 2-1 win over América.
