Celtic’s £2m offer for midfielder Romaine Sawyers has been rejected by Brentford, according to SkySports.
According to the report, the Championship side held our as they look to get a higher fee for the 27-year-old.
This isn’t the first Celtic offer that Brentford has rejected, earlier this week it was reported that the Scottish-side offered £1.5m for Sawyers’ services.
The attacking midfielder player in 42 Championship matches this past season for Brentford, but failed to score in a game, but had seven assists during the season.
According to Sky Sports, a number of Championship suitors have shown interested in Sawyers.
With only one year left on his current deal at Brentford, Celtic hopes it can convince Brentford to sell for the right price this summer so that they can avoid losing him on a free transfer.
