Brendan Rodgers has dashed old club Celtic’s hopes of signing Leicester defender Filip Benković on a permanent basis.
Rodgers signed the Croatian defender for the Scottish giants on a season-long loan last summer.
Benković was loaned out by the Foxes having signed from Dinamo Zagreb but he’s impressed at Parkhead, starting 24 times and scoring two goals.
And now the new Leicester boss – who left Celtic acrimoniously in February – has revealed that he will be bringing the 21-year-old back to the King Power Stadium.
“The whole plan for him was to get him game time,” he told the Mirror.
“We took him up to Celtic which was a huge club with big pressures to play. He has done very well.
“All the loan players will look to come back and then we will decide where we will go from there.”
