James Maddison has been just one of a number of bright spots in Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester squad and it’s no surprise that the likes of Manchester United are keen to splash the cash to land the 23-year-old this summer.

Maddison has been in spectacular form, contributing nine goals and three assists in all competitions this season, and has helped lead Leicester to the verge of Champions League qualification.

Though the England international can’t stay out of the transfer rumours, Rodgers is convinced that Maddison won’t go anywhere in the upcoming window.

“He’s a player we’re very keen to keep here and help us on this journey over these next numbers of years.

“He’s a very talented young player that has a lot of development to make over the coming years.

“He recognises this is a great place for him to be, and gives him that opportunity to flourish and develop.

“I know the boy is very happy. He wants to be here and he sees this as the club he can develop at. I am hopeful it (his contract extension) will be done.”

With nine games left in the Premier League campaign, the Foxes are in third place on 53 points, four points behind Manchester City and five points ahead of Chelsea.
