With Borussia Dortmund blowing a Champions League round-of-16 lead against PSG, suffering an early exit from the DFB-Pokal, and falling behind in the Bundesliga title race, Lucien Favre is surely skating on thin ice.
Should Dortmund not make up their four-point deficit and break Bayern’s stranglehold atop the Bundesliga, it’s likely Favre will be handed his walking papers this summer.
According to Sport BILD, Dortmund are now considering several potential replacements, including Ajax manager Erik ten Hag.
Though ten Hag has a contract at Ajax until 2022, the 50-year-old has been the subject of constant speculation since nearly guiding Ajax to the Champions League final last year.
Bayern Munich were widely linked to ten Hag, however, their recent hot form could see them hold onto current manager Hansi Flick.
Former Bayern boss Niko Kovač and current Eintracht Frankfurt manager Adi Hütter are also believed to be under consideration.
