After prolonging their coronation, the Xeneize finally managed to claim their second straight Superliga Argentina title with a 2-2 draw at Gimnasia.

Gimnasia made it a serious point to restrain Cristian Pavón and two minutes into the match, Pavón was the recipient of a tremendous kick that brought him down to the pitch.

Boca did not stop pressing forward and they’d be rewarded for their efforts early on. In the 12th minute, Pablo PĂ©rez would score a goal that, for the moment, gave them the championship.

The local team would not allow Boca to retain their title so easily as NicolĂĄs Colazo scored the equaliser just twenty minutes later.

In the second half, Ramón Ábila would not wait long to add the second on the scoreboard. ‘Wanchope’ took advantage of a barbaric error of the defense and the rest was history.

However, Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s squad were delayed from celebrating the title late on, as Brahian Alemán put home the equaliser in the 81st minute.

Despite a bombardment by their opponents, the Xeneize defense endured and celebrated lifting the league title for the second time in a row.
