It’s easy to get that Guido Carillo, considered to be one of the biggest flops in Premier League history, is still under contract at Southampton.
The 28-year-old, who cost the Saints a massive £19.2m, has spent the last two seasons on-loan at Leganés and has only scored a single LaLiga goal in 20 appearances this season.
With one year remaining left on his current deal, Southampton are keen to recoup a small fraction of what they paid and could turn to South American giants Boca Juniors to alleviate their worry.
According to Argentine newspaper Clarin, the Argentines will consider Carillo, as well as PSG’s Edinson Cavani and former West Ham striker Jonathan Calleri (currently on loan at Espanyol) in the upcoming summer window.
Despite his massive fee, Carillo famously never scored once for the Saints, picking up a pair of assists in a measly 10 appearances.
