Boca Juniors accept Ajax's offer for centre-back Lisandro Magallán | OneFootball

Argentine journalist César Luis Merlo is now reporting that Ajax have now had their €9m bid for centre-back Lisandro Magallán accepted by Boca Juniors.

Ajax had made their offer for Magallán prior to Sunday’s Copa Libertadores final against River Plate.

In 2012, Boca Juniors bought 80 per cent of Magallán’s rights from Gimnasia La Plata for just over €1m.

Magallán started and went the full 90 minutes in all but one of Boca Juniors’ Copa Libertadores matches in 2018 and was instrumental in their journey to the final.

If all goes according to plan, Magallán will link up with fellow Argentine defender Nicolas Tagliafico in January in time for the Champions League knockout stage.

Magallán is being looked at as a long-term replacement for Matthijs de Ligt, who is almost certain to leave this summer for a near three-figure fee.
