Bernardo Silva has insisted that he is more than happy at Manchester City despite links of a switch to Real Madrid.

Los Blancos are rumoured to have made Silva one of their top transfer targets over the summer but the Portugal international has claimed that he wants to stay and win more trophies with Pep Guardiola’s side.

“I still have three and a half years left but I’m happy at City and if they want to renegotiate my contract then of course I’m open to doing that,” he told The Times.

“If we stay together we can do special things, I am very happy here and want to stay.”

Silva also gave an insight into how much of a culture shock it was to move from Monaco to Manchester back in 2017.

“I came directly from [holidaying in] Ibiza,” Silva says.

“People were telling me that Manchester is cold but I thought, ‘Come on, it will at all right in July,’ but when I arrived it was raining and windy. I wore my pink shorts — never again.”

The 24-year-old has been one of City’s star men this season, starting 22 league games and scoring five goals.
