Bernardo Silva insists he is happy at Manchester City and knows nothing of the rumours linking him with Real Madrid.

Silva joined City from Monaco in the summer of 2017 and has been one of the club’s best performers this season.

Speaking to Portuguese outlet Record, the 24-year-old has revealed he is hoping to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium.

“I’d like to extend [City contract], I’m fine here, but I don’t have any information about it,” said the Portugal international.

“I don’t know if it’s true or not [stories of contract talks]. It’s my agent who deals with this and for the moment he hasn’t called me.

“Real Madrid interest? I’m not aware of anything, I do not know if it’s true or not, but I am aware of the rumours.

“I am focused on Manchester City, I am happy here, I have three years left on my contract and could extend it.”

Bernardo’s current deal isn’t due to expire until June 2022 and Blues boss Pep Guardiola recently hailed the playmaker’s performance in Wednesday’s win away at Everton.

“To drop Bernardo Silva right now is almost impossible. It’s him and 10 more players right now,” said Guardiola.
